A public downloader is not an access-control bypass
This tool resolves media from publicly accessible status URLs. It does not log into your X account, reuse your session, request your password, or bypass a private profile. If a post cannot be viewed publicly, the downloader should not expose its media.
Private accounts
Only approved followers may see posts from a private account inside the platform. Copying the URL does not make the content public. Do not give a third-party site your login cookies or account credentials to work around that boundary.
Direct messages and restricted posts
DM media, age-gated content, deleted posts, suspended accounts, and other login-restricted resources are outside the public lookup workflow. Search suggestions may mention “download Twitter DM video,” but targeting that intent would misrepresent what a safe static browser tool can do.
What to do instead
If it is your own file, use the original device, editing archive, platform data tools, or an official export method available to your account. If somebody else owns it, ask them to share the file or grant access through an appropriate channel.
Avoid credential-harvesting tools
Never paste a password, session token, cookie, backup code, or private-message content into a downloader. A public URL is sufficient for this site’s supported workflow. Review the privacy-focused guide for the third-party services a browser lookup can contact.
Public posts still require responsible use
Even when the video downloader can resolve a public post, copyright and privacy considerations remain. Preserve context and permission records. The Disclaimer describes the user’s responsibility for saved media.
If a URL should be public but fails, use the X link troubleshooting guide rather than assuming the content is private.
