Use the original public video post
Copy the direct status URL from the X app or browser and open the video downloader in Chrome or another current browser. Avoid profile, search, quote-preview, and notification URLs.
Select the file that fits your purpose
When several MP4 variants appear, the largest label is useful for editing or archiving your own clip. A smaller file can be quicker to transfer. Find the completed download
After tapping Download, inspect the notification tray, browser Downloads, or your Files app. Different Android manufacturers may group MP4 under Videos, Recent files, or Downloads. Confirm the first attempt before downloading duplicates.
Browser permissions and blockers
Approve only the expected file-save prompt. If nothing happens, check browser permissions, free storage, VPN filtering, and strict content blockers. A clean private tab can reveal whether an extension or stored browser state caused the problem.
Missing sound or a looping animation
